PeepVison_Nezus NFT series on TEIA
What is a PeepVision_Nezus anyway?
PeepVision_Nezus is a series of illustrations I created while traveling this last summer. I feel a certain freedom within the limitations of spotty internet access, bumpy roads, and a quickly depleting iPad battery. Plein-air painting without the paint or the air.
I never really considered myself an illustrator as much as an editor or collage artist, but it’s a fun challenge to produce images from scratch. I love how NFTs create the possibilty to expand a repitoire.
I’ve been releasing one of these every few weeks- no roadmap. They are minted on TEIA in small editions and available on Objkt.com minted on the Tezos blockchain. Some are sold out and available on the secondary market. Each of the images below are linked to the marketplace. My full TEIA profile is here.
Is drawing on an iPad in a tent the same as Plein air painting? GPTchat weighs in on this debate:
Plein air painting and drawing on an iPad in a tent are two distinct approaches to creating art. While both allow for outdoor creativity and the opportunity to capture the essence of a specific place or moment, they differ in several key ways.
Plein air painting is a traditional technique that involves creating art outside, in the open air, using traditional media such as oils, watercolors, or pastels. It requires an artist to work quickly and respond to the changing conditions of the environment. Plein air painting is often seen as a true test of an artist's skills, as they must work with the elements, including the sun, wind, and weather, to create a piece of art.
On the other hand, drawing on an iPad in a tent involves using digital tools and technology to create art. This approach provides an artist with more control over the creation process, as they can use software to manipulate the image, adjust lighting and shading, and refine the composition. While drawing on an iPad in a tent does offer some of the benefits of plein air painting, such as being in a new environment and being surrounded by nature, it lacks the challenge of working with the elements and the physicality of traditional media.
Conclusion
While both plein air painting and drawing on an iPad in a tent offer unique benefits and opportunities for creative expression, they are not the same. The choice between the two comes down to personal preference and the type of art the artist wishes to create.
